I currently get internet access through a university network, which uses a username to identify me. I have a VPN, which the server and IP address I get is based in the Netherlands. While my data is encrypted through the VPN and tunneled in the Netherlands, will the data become visible as it is routed through my university servers? I understand that the university's servers need to know the location of my computer to send the data, so while my IP is concealed, will the university use my username to determine my location and will it somehow be able to see what I download or will my VPN conceal the data?
