Is the subject in which you received an A Level certificate important to universities?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask wether it is important to universities in which subjects someone achieved their A Levels or not. Like.. Do you have to take certain A Level courses and get certification in these to study certain study paths or can you just apply with your A Level certifications to whichever study paths / university you choose?

What is a VPN?
